Wall Mounted TV

Wall Mounted TVThis project is one that I have wanted to do for a long time at our old house, but I never did. As soon as we moved into our new house, I couldn’t wait to do it.

The TV is hung using a cheap TV wall-mount from monoprice. The wires are fed through the wall to the basement below. The little thing in the top left corner of the TV is an infra-red repeater. That repeater allows us to put our DVR and receiver in the basement, out of site. The remote signals are “repeated” to the devices below. The speakers are hung in the corners of the room, with the wiring going down through the walls there as well.

The electronics themselves are nothing special. My TV and receiver components are all at least 5 years old, and I only have 2 speakers installed… so it’s certainly not impressive to the audiophiles that have 700.1 surround these days. But I am excited about how they are installed with no wiring exposed.

By the way, my Plasma TV was a freebie from a coworker because the audio doesn’t work. I could repair the TV, but I prefer to use my stereo system anyway.
